Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

It took 3.5 months to get back to London as they needed to wait for the container to fill up. It arrived in the condition I left it in and I was kept up to date until the moment it arrived back in London.

I will ship with Jendalma Express next time I am in West Africa.

Everything went smooth. I packed the bike (DR650) on a pallet myself and had a friend deliver to the airport. Took front wheel off and handlebars. They charged me by weight which I wasn’t expecting, 227kg @ US$4.12 plus export documents, clearance, airline checks, transfers etc. It flew with LAN cargo and they use Fast Air to handle their freight in Santiago. Went to Fast Air (huge building, can’t miss it) with Waybill, paid $70 for paperwork, went to customs, which is right beside the entrance into restricted area on the way into cargo area. Gave them the waybill, went for an early lunch while they sorted the TIP and customs clearance. Went back to Fast Air with those documents, paid another $70 for storage and got the bike, reassembled and rode off into the sunset, it was only 3pm..but still. Arrived there at 10:30am, could have easily done it faster. My Chilean girlfriend did most of the talking, but quite a few people spoke English, pretty sure you’d get by without much Spanish.

Hope this helps

Process was smooth and communication good.  Cristina speaks ok english and was very responsive to emails.  We left Colombia 2 weeks prior to bikes leaving and all went well but shipping ended up being about a week later than originally asked for - partly due to airlines finding room on plane.  Bikes were partially broken down (remove front wheel, handlebars and my front fairing, and stapped down onto open pallet then shrink wrapped and all arrived fine.  Important that bikes are clean to pass Canadian customs.  1/4 tank gas ok and could keep other fluids in bike. For reference my motos was KTM 690 Enduro and wifes a Honda CRF250L.  Total for both motos as $2900 US and we were able to squeeze in our soft panniers and riding gear, except helmets. My only complaint was we were originally quoted then prepaid based on 700 kgs cubic volume and shipped weight was 500 kgs but I think there may have been some other airline charges they covered, not sure.  Overall they were great and price was fair.  We originally were giong to ship home from Lima but received quotes there for $4000 US per bike! - worth the extra 3000 km ride.

$1450 per moto
