We want YOUR story!

We want your motorcycle travel story, whether it's around the world or a once-in-a-lifetime trip to anywhere. At Horizons Unlimited, the most popular motorcycle travel website, with around three million hits a month, you'll get a lot more readers than in some obscure corner of the web. Plus, your readers won't be subjected to popup/under ads or turned away because you've exceeded their bandwidth limits. And yes, it's still free and will remain so. Motorcycle travel stories only, please.

What's a Blog?

We have set up the Movable Type blogging ("web log" or "web page with regular entries") software to enable motorcycle travellers around the world to enter their stories easily. For an example of a blog/travel story produced with this software, see Ken and Carol Duval's story.

You can enter your story from any Internet cafe using only the browser. Scan pictures using the available scanner and software in the cafe, then upload them to your page. Readers can sign up for notifications when you post a new entry, and you can add your friends and family yourself, so they don't have to go to the site to check if there is an update. You can also allow readers to add comments to your entries, or not, depending on how thick-skinned you are ;-) You can even delete their comments if you don't like them.

What do we ask of you?

First and most important - we ask that you actually use the blog to post your story! It is a bit of work writing up the events of the day, so if you're not prepared to actually do it, please don't ask - it does takes some time for us to set you up, and uses server space!

Please be careful of the space you use - we don't charge you, but it does cost us! Please keep photos to 400 pixels wide maximum, and 15-40kb in size maximum. More details in the Users Manual here.

You agree that you will not use this site to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this site.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your entry, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Horizons Unlimited and our agents, Movable Type (the makers of the blogging software) and their agents, with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your entry.

Custom designs?

If you would prefer to have your own design for your blog, that is possible - but it's not free. Web site design, hosting etc is all possible. Fill in the form, or just use the simple feedback form, and let us know what you would like, and we'll contact you.

What if I only have one trip story?

If you have only a single trip story, and it's from a current or recent trip, it may be new and interesting to someone on the far side of the globe. We can create a single page for you. Please spell-check it and send it in the form just as TEXT in the Comments field. We reserve the right to edit, but only if really needed. We will check it and if of interest, we will send you a request for photos. Photos should be scanned at a resolution of approx. 200 DPI (dots per inch), sized to approx. 600 pixels wide, and outputted as JPEG at a setting somewhere in the middle of the quality range. DON'T send any photos until we contact you, please.
