You go into edit, then advanced.

Looks like someone has already done it for you.

It has changed it in the thread but not changed the name of the thread when you look down the list on the bikes for sale page

Cheers

Changed it using thread tools, might be a mod only facility.

Lone rider, you had a thread in which you were the only contributor. You could have easily eliminated that thread entirely, then started a new one with an identical post and new title. No need to involve anyone else.

I checked last night, saw that the title in the thread itself was as you wished, and didn't check any further. Probably others did the same.

Hope that's helpful.

Mark

To change the title of a post as a standard user:

Click the "Edit" button in your post, then click the "Go Advanced" button, and you can edit the title of the post. This will change the thread title also IF it's the first post.

But it appears not to have worked.

Yeah you are right I probably could have done...however I could have just have easily changed the title of the thread myself....if it had worked......then wouldn't have had to "involve anyone else" as you put it.....and frankly, you have involved yourself as Tim had kindly done it for me

Tim, Lonerider, it looks fine to me. The listing in the index page is the same as the title of the thread for me. What difference do you see?

It looks fine now to me because Tim did it but when I tried to do it originally it would not change the main thread heading. All good now
Thanks

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
