thanks guys,
im sure this particular region of eastern europe is exactly what im looking for,wilderness and solitude along with breathtaking scenery.
the carpathians is a place i feel will have it all
it is great to get into the heart of the country too,away from city lights and the chaos of traffic,overcrowding etc,
google maps has helped me with certain ideas and routes,my eyes are stinging from studying satellite images to help me get the most of the journey.i suppose once i get there the maps and gps will keep me at least going south:confused1:
its good to hear encouragement,as i know very little about the area
im very surprised its not talked about more in forums or articles
all the better maybe....more isolation from humanity and tracks for me i guess 
ps..i am a people person,but they just have to be the right ones 
i will read your blogs wesley,get a taster of things to come,
