Information on buying cheap local motorcycles in Africa.
Hello some friends and I are thinking of traveling to Africa and buying some local motorcycles to travel with. This is a bit of a broad question but which country would be easiest to purchase second hand motorcycles? Also which country would be suitable for a three week trip? How about accommodations? Hostels, Hotels or camping? Thank you for any information.

3 weeks? You will want to buy and sell quick, meaning a dealer. I'd think South Africa.
No mater where .. I'd take some flags/stickers to identify yourselves as not being local ... the locals (and cops) should forgive your errors ( ) easier that way. Put the stickers under the rego plate on the back of the bike. I tie a flag to the mirror on the side of the road I am supposed to ride on.

You didn't mean disregarding the traffic rules
Yep, South Africa has a fairly good m/c market. Try https://www.gumtree.co.za/s-motorcyc...ters/v1c9027p1
Besides that, S.A. has a very good touristic infrastructure, great landscape and friendly people.

N'debba area in Kampala, Uganda is FULL of used local/foreign bikes! We bought one 9 days ago, will donate to a ranger to be used in poaching when we're done. More details on my fb page.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
