I live and work in Peru. It takes 17 'dias habiles' for all the paperwork and plates... so that is most of a month when you discount all weekends and government holidays.. NOT a good use of your trip days!
I offer to purchase it, paper it and prep it for you before you arrive. The bike titles don't show a name in Peru, it is on a scanned strip that can only be read at borders. I would get it all in my name, then when you arrive we would do the change to your name (1/2 day), but you can take off right away on the bike and I can pick up the new title and send it to you at a city near the border that you are exiting...
Does that help?
Cheers! Toby
