Lightbulb Buy new motorcycle in Spain (non-resident) easy - Anybody have experience?

Hi Friends!

After my web research. Its looks like Spain is easiest country of Europe, where non EU residents, without residence permit (with Schengen travel visa), can buy and register motorcycle or car. I hear it possible buy new one, and put it on spanish T (tourist) plates, it valid for one year (but you can use bike only 180 days per year), and unlimited extendable... Also by this way you save a lot of tax - vat and road. And dealers can solve all paperwork for you.

Anybody have experience in this area? Is it enough my passport and my DL for buying? (my new Russian DL card is international and allow drive in all Europe)

Im arrive in Barcelona this week, and want start moto travel from there on new bike, and after just keep it there, for future runs.

Buying in Spain for non residents

Lank, are you Russian, or just having a Russian DL card?

Several years ago, we purchased two new BMWs in A Coruña, Spain. We have parked these bikes in Spain since then, returning to Spain once a year or so to
ride. We have ridden throughout the EU as far as Turkey. No problems.

She is Spanish and I, as her husband, became a permanent resident of Spain and thus the EU.

Are you a citizen or a permanent resident of a country that belongs to the EU? What passports do you carry?

We are in Spain right now and will be here for several months more

Some information: https://www.justlanded.com/english/S...ation-in-Spain

I am non-resident in Spain with a Spanish-registered KTM. Mine was a straight-forward purchase. You will undoubtedly need a NIE (foreigner tax registration) plus an address for registration. You will definitely still need to pay road tax, Don't know about VAT.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
