thanks for the reply xt frog the guy seid he could not get the damper rod part out of the main body. he also drilled a hole close to the top to depresserise it he was going to tap this hole and put a valve in it to regas it up again, yours prosumably has a valve tapped in to it now somewhere, ive now just bought a hagon shock 375 pounds (ouch) ive still got the old shock , me and a mechanic friend are going to have a go at pulling it in bits , but where the guy drilled a hole on the body just below the top mounting eye, he did not think it was thick enough to tap into ,so i think a nut would have to be welded on to screw the valve in to, also you can see the insides , a kind of rubber thing is on the inside of the hole. like i seid i dont think anybody else would take the job on now, so if we can get it in bits i will see if we can change the oil and re gas it some how but ive no idea what pressure it takes so like i seid all in all it was a non starter. zigzag
