as you turn the crankshaft anti clockwise the first marks like a H are the timing marks. As you turn slightly further, the next mark is the TDC. If you think TDC is still marked incorrectly then you will need to remove flywheel. there is an arrow marked on the crankcase and the dot on the crank cam gear that should line up. Best done with dial indicator on the piston to work out exact true piston TDC.
