Hello from Extremadura (Spain)

Hi all,
Long time an ocassional visitor at the Hubb, amazing community, this is my first post.
I´m located in western Spain living in the countryside. I run at home a small amateur workshop where I try my best to fix mostly (but not only) XTs and Land Rovers, both of friends and mine.
I got back to motorcycles a few years ago (now 51) and soon set on my old XT to Morroco with a friend riding a F650GS. Third time there but first on a bike, absolutely loved it. Second trip aborted because of, you know, Covid-19. Now we are planning on getting back there as soon as possible, hopefully next Christmas if conditions alllow. We target on Figuig.
Anywone travelling around here and in need of any help or support, please don't hesitate to drop me a line.
Best wishes to all you outlanders out there.
Marcos.

Hi Marcos:

Welcome to our community!

I have ridden through Extremadura several times - it is a very nice part of Spain, quite different from other areas, but beautiful in its own lonely way.

Hi Marcos
Extramadura is one of our favourite parts of Spain, we have been there 3 times and will hopefully visit again - it has a special feel to it.

Hi Marcos. I have a casa cueva on the edge of the Castril Valley on the Altiplano de Granada, so also very rural. Spain is such a beautiful country with so many historic towns, medieval and earlier, but unfortunately I will not be able to get out there this year.

On my last trip to Morocco I went via Mérida (Extramadura's capital for anyone else reading this) to visit all the Roman ruins—theatre, ampitheatre, circus (chariot racing), river bridge, multiple aquaducts, triumphal arch, dams, villas....

Tim, oh that sounds wonderful, may be we can meet in one of your trips. We can lend some acommodation in our little guests house and workshop support too. I guess you are from England, a contry and people I love so much too.
Best wishes, Marcos.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
