Bike to Spain. Help with what I don't know..

I want to send my Honda to Spain to ride around while on a business trip using Air Canada to fly it there.

I will stay for 3 months in Spain and then leave Spain and store the bike for 6 months, then go back for another 3 months and then take the bike out of Spain and the EU flying the bike back to Canada or on to a new country.

The questions I need help with are this...
1. What are the point of entry fees when I go to get the bike at the Barcelona Airport?
2. Can I ride on my Canadian Motorcycle licence or do i need an International Driving Permit?

What other problems/issues am I over looking?

Thanks in advance for the help everybody

Gee

EU citizens can use their driving licences for two years, non-EU citizens for six months. I guess you would be OK as you would be doing two three-month periods.

However you are not allowed to temporarily import a vehicle for more than six months. So you would need to be able to claim you've had the bike out of the country for some of that time.

Hana at MotoAdvenTours might be able to help with both the storage and the point of entry question.

Hi.
We here at motofeirme have had USA motorcycles in storage for over 4 years with zero issues.
As long as you are a non EU citizen carrying a passport and DL you should be fine.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
