Shipping Los Angeles to Malaysia

Hello dear travel friends,
I am currently in Canada and am slowly on my way south to ship my BMW R 100 GS PD to Malaysia in January.
I've already searched the forum a bit, but only found very old information about shipping, but mostly to/from Australia.
Do any of you have any information about freight companies that ship from Los Angeles to Kuala Lumpur? Likewise, any information about Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar is very helpful. I would like to travel overland from Malaysia to Germany. Thank you for your time
Keep the rubber down
Carsten

Hi Carsten, welcome to HU!
Have you checked in with James Cargo? That's their ad at the top of this page. They've been doing a great job shipping motorcycles worldwide for travellers for a long time.

Canada to Malaysia input here:
https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/get-ready/shipments
gives some info. Try USA or whatever to Malaysia, there may or may not be anything, but worth a look.

Of course with the current shipping status, everything can be different from what it was, but I think it's important to point out that good reports on shipping companies are probably still valid, and at least a great place to start.
Good luck, and PLEASE be sure to report in what you found out so the next person along has RECENT news!

Thanks, and hope that helps!

There is a thread here about the latest Myanmar information, if you can get to India you should be able to make it to Germany as some people have already made it from Europe to India through Iran and Pakistan.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
