Airfreight from Istambul/Turkey to Bangkok/Thailand

I Airfreight cargo my motorcycle from Istanbul (Turkey) to Bangkok (Thailand).

I used Skyline Freights & Logistics LLC. Perfect coordination of logistics. From the initial phone call, Neil Bhandari answered all my concerns. Real proffesional, what they said they did. It was great to work with such caring people for the shipment of my motorcycle (Kawasaki Versys 1000, with side and top cases) was delivered safe and on time. They also took care of crating, customs, temporary import documents, etc. I recommend this transport company to any rider needing airfreight cargo transport.

Cool! How much did it cost you, with all the fees on both sides? What was the process to get the bike out and on the road in Bangkok?

Hi Marc:

Welcome to the forum.

You refer to "crating" - did this require disassembly of the motorcycle?

When shipping motorcycles from North America to Europe, air carriers normally don't disassemble them - they just toss the motorcycle into a ULD (Uniform Load Device), as shown in the photo below.

Do let us know the total cost of the shipment, and the weight of the motorcycle (both net - the moto itself) and gross (moto and crate).

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
