Zurich to Cape Town in 2019; East Transafrica Route

Hi there!

I'm planning on taking the East Transafrica Route down to Cape Town, likely starting in Cairo around May 2019 (Following Zurich to Cairo in April).
I'm 34 years old, Swiss, and ride a KTM 1190 Adventure R. Kicking-off the detail planning / preparation now (incl. reading all the Africa Blogs on HU) and would enjoy some companionship along the journey; esp. in areas where solo travel is not necessarily recommended; happy to connect & share ideas!

Looking forward to hearing from you & cheers,
Rico

Any chance you can share your route from Cairo to Cape Town? I hope to ride from Cairo to Cape Town but do not have 8.5 months. I hope to do it in about 60 days in a pretty direct route.
Thanks,

Hello Ted,
Can you share any of your route plans? Are you looking for anyone to share this trip?

Hello JulieW,
I assume you are planning a trip from Cairo to Cape Town. Any departure date selected? Are you looking for someone to share this trip?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
