Kyrgyzstan to pakistan MID SEPT 2015 - china guide share

Hello Guys,

eventually we fixed a route and a tour for a transit through China from Kyrgyzstan (Torugart Pass) to Pakistan border (Kunjerab Pass).

We are two couples (Australian & German) with two cars seeking for 1-2 other cars joining us.

Dates are already fixed and booked:
Entry: 16th September 2015, Torugart Pass
Exit: 22th September 2015, Kunjerab Pass

Duration: 7 days
Wednesday to Saturday - Kashgar, Paperwork, Sightseeing
Saturday - Taklamkan Desert
Sunday to Monday - Karakul Lake, Hiking or whatever, Camping
Monday to Tuesday - Karakul Lake/Tashkurgan/Camping
Tuesday (22th Sept) - Tashkurgan/Exit

Anybody who is interested and slow travelling is welcome. After first contact details I'll give you further details about the tour, agency and payments.

We look forward to hear from you!

Thomas

Just a quick note: If you are looking to save time and money, the Irkeshtam pass will likely be cheaper than Turogat, because there are less special permit requirements and no (?) military restricted zones.

But it's more than 200 k's far from kashgar. I thought it would take a while until you arrive there. And coming from the Pamirs from tadjik border it will be a tough way without filling up anything. or I have to drive to Osh first and then the half way back heading to Irkeshtam. Does that make sense?

Hallo Thomas,

Thomas

Hi

I had planned to travel Kyrgyzstan - China - Nepal - New Delhi but Nepal border is now closed due to earthquakes.

Looking now to make contact with any groups going Kyrgyzstan - China - Pakistan - India in September or October this year.

One Toyota Hilux and one driver (me :-) and possibly some motorbike friends if visas come through.

I would be most thankful for your advice based on recent events.

Yours sincerely

Fergal John

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
