Vagamoto is here with me in Costa Rica for a couple of weeks more,from South Africa - he licensed his F650 in California easily. If you intend to buy a bike in states and then sell it down here or SA remember you will have to pay 30-50% import duty before sale depending on which country you sell it in. Bikes down here retail for 30-50% more also.

Yeah, consider the real heavy rains starting in October ,from Central America to Bolivia. These rains will last as long as April. Roads will be wiped away in many places: Uyini salt lake is going to be a salt water lake...
Sell the bike in Paraguay or Bolivia. Almost impossible in Chile and Argentina.
