Any overlanders in Bangkok?
Hi all;
We're in Bangkok waiting for our bike to arrive (its two weeks late) from Dubai. We couldn't get Pak visas in UK and we didn't try again in Iran so went to Dubai instead arranged shipping for Bangkok and flew out to India/Nepal and rented an Enfield for a bit.
So yeah anyone around Bangkok? Would be nice to meet up. After getting the bike out Im going to take it to a garage for a once over (I hope they let me work on it) then our route will be Siam Riep, the Cambodian south coast, then up north, then into Laos, northern Laos and back in to northern Thailand, then head back south towards Oz. We'll be setting off around the 8th-9th-10th..not sure yet.
All the best,
Oli

hey;
We're long gone from Bangkok. Currently in Cambodia.. and doing an anticlockwise S.E. Asia tour. But will be entering northern Thailand again in about a month and riding down towards Malaysia.
We'd recommend New Road Guesthouse (Visit Beyond). It's not in Kao san but is near Silom rd, on the BTS line and can get a fan room for quite cheap. Its backpackery but nicely social hostel..not in a backpacker area.
What are your plans? We might bump into you on the road then. Will probably enter Thailand again early Feb late Jan, and spend 30 days (week or so on Tao or longer) then enter Malaysia by March.
Keep in touch

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
