If you make a more meaningfull title to your post than just "help" you may get even more help. Also makes reading the forum alot more enjoyable for everyone, since you really don't "need" help, like an actual emergency situation :-)

Where you need to go is here: Adventure Rider

This is THE american forum. Make a post there and I think you will find someone.

I actually found a guy there who bought a bike for me, picked it up and registered it in my name and held it for me for a couple of months before I came over there and drove it to Argentina. He was an ex-brit by the way.

Best of luck with your purchase

Good call. I do sometimes read ADR but didn't think to post this problem on there as HU is my default travel forum. I'll do it now.
Cheers

Shipping firm KINGSTOWN

Not Seen this outfit on here but had a very good conversation with them yesterday about shipping bikes. They ship from ports all around the states and for some reason shipping from the west coast is no more expensive than the east?! As well as the shipping the guy said he could arrange transport from a dealer to the port and when the bike arrives in Blighty I would pay them only as they take care of the vat and import duty admin. Brilliant. Cost, £600
I told the guy to check out this site which he did as we spoke. I suggested to him that a spot of regulate advertising on here would no doubt bring him a lot of other business as people ship their bikes all the time when travelling. Grant if you're reading this it might be worth contacting them?
Apologies if all this has been done before but if it has I didn't spot it so they need to use BIGGER adverts!!

Cheers Bertrand

Throw a W in the next one if you've still got your eraser out. It's Kingstown

You can do this sort of thing yourself 'cos you own your own postings; right next to the edit button for any of your posts should be another one for "advanced edit" - go in to that one and crack on.

ps
Now I am editing from a minute ago.
Correction to above - after clicking on the edit button it will offer you the chance to "save, go advanced, delete, cancel".
You want the second option.

Many thanks Bertrand but I meant put a W in the next post i.e.. Kingston = KingstoWn. The shipping company just in case anyone else needs to google them.
I tried again to edit but can't tamper with the title myself, bloody iPhone dropped the W. Must be on account of the amount of reggae I buy off of iTunes.
This is getting more complex than a tax return

Sorry you had a wasted journey
I just tried to edit the title to make you happy but I can't I'm so sorry.
Rest assured if I needed help with a crisis then it would be in the respective bike tech section or paperwork section or whatever. I am actually asking for help as I am going with friends on a trip to Morocco early next year and need to buy a bike asap.
Once again apologies for making you read my post then forcing you to analyse and then criticise it. I often wonder where would we be without folks such as yourself keeping everyone in line

Well sorry for wasting your time then. I still mean what I said. Veteran hubbers (whom you rely on to answer the question) usually arent offended by meaningless headings but it is nuisance.

I am not going to comment on your remarks about my friendly advice

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
