Smile Shipping to/from Brazil

Hello; I want to recommend Brazil as a motorcycle travel destination. It was the highlight of my trip through 15 countries in Latin America. You can easily ship your bike by air to or from São Paulo with Augusto Leocadio, motoshipco@gmail.com +55 11 9.8152.4142. I found him through the HUBB.

I live on Vancouver Island and shipped my bike from São Paulo to Seattle with Augusto and can say that he knows the shipping business, is very professional and pays attention to details. My bike arrived without a scratch, with all my riding and camping gear, clothes and other stuff in my boxes. The bike was secured in a steel framed box which I'm keeping for future shipping.

Also, Augusto is associated with Touratech Brazil which has a great shop in a nice, safe area of São Paulo plus another one in Joinville. Gabriel Colafemina (gabriel@touratech.com.br) is the owner and he has great people working there, André and Stephano. All these people became good friends of mine. I left my bike with them in full confidence. They also have scheduled tours organized by BMW Rider Experience.

Brazil is a fantastic country with a huge variety of roads, including amazing mountain twisties, my favorites. The food is great, there is lots of campgrounds or hostels to stay at, the beaches and brazilian beauties are legendary but best of all, you will meet the warmest, friendliest, most helpful people and will be invited to stay at their homes, meet their families and friends, eat at their table. They are the nicest people I have met anywhere.

In conclusion I would say; don't stop in Buenos Aires, go to Brazil! You can ship your bike to or from there with Augusto. If that doesn't work, maybe you can rent or you can join a tour with Gabriel. They're trying to develop their business and I know they will do their very best to help you.

Paid 2500 USD. Got many quotes to ship from BA, Montevideo, other Brazil ports, all around the same range. This one is trustworthy and trouble free.

not recomended!

I shipped also my bike from Sao Paulo to South Africa with Augusto. He’s offer was 2400 USD. The final bill was 3150 USD! He charged me two times 100$ for two re-checks. In the quote he wrote one re-check is 50$. I asked for a receipt or a proof that the re-checks were made and that I see the real costs. He made an own receipt and was not able to send any original receipts from the airport. Then he charged me also all bank fees (also here nothing in the quote). The airlines charged him a lot more because he forgot to get a proper quote. After long discussion and hundreds of mails he charged me less because it was not my fault of the missing quote. He offer in USD but I had to pay in Reals (at least if you pay by wire transfer). The exchange rate he used was 20 % less than the normal exchange rate or the one the airlines uses (you can see this on the AWB).
Unfortunately he still had my sidecar to ship to Europe. For this he charge me 1000$ more than the first quote. Because I signed the Power of Attorney for him and I was already in South Africa I couldn’t change the Agent anymore. While shipping the sidecar I never felt that he wants to help me and that he is professional. E. g. he warned me: “I have to be careful when I use another agent. The most are not professional and finally I will get a fat bill”. Well, yes I got a fat bill, but from him….
Shipping time was 3 Weeks for the bike, from the day all the paperwork and payment was done from my side. For the sidecar it took 6 weeks. I guess for him it was the first time to receive money from another country. He gave me wrong Swift and IBAN codes and when I made a wire transfer to him, his bank blocked the transfer for 3 weeks!

The worst was that he lost my carnet de passage and other documents!

Please feel free to contact me if you like to have more information’s about my shipping with Augusto.

I was in contact with Juliana for long time and recognize that she is much more professional and much cheaper than Augusto:

Exclamation

Dear Christian,

Its quite the opposite... I had my worst experience with YOU in 20years.
I even declined your shipment because of your behaviour - extremely impolite ...

I shipped your motorcycle with ANY ISSUES and extremely fast.

Have you forgot you left BRAZIL and your motorcycle + SIDECAR and went back HOME (Europe) For months and just when your shipment deadline was about about to expire you decided to ship your motorcycle to South Africa ?!?

And yes, quotation changed. The air line changed the pricing and I HAD to adjust it to you as quotations have a validity - not my rules friend. its the same anywhere in the world.

As for your SIDECAR, same happened... All your paperwork was wrong and DUE to expire when you finally decided to ship it to EUROPE (while you were in SAF)...

Because of your unprofessional behaviour, I declined the shipment.. This is why you tried to find someone to help here in Brazil and could not find a soul...
The company you mentioned above, has no clue on how to do it... they have no idea about the crating process, the documentation, motorcycle preparation etc ... they called ME asking for help... and at the end, you convinced me to handle your shipment because you had no choice ...

Please avoid LYING... I can share with the entire motorcycle community all the emails we exchanged showing how unprepared you were, how impolite and unprofessional....

remember I kept your motorcycle + sidecar + motorcycle gear + personal stuff for months securely, without any charges !!!!

I sincerely hope you move on with your life and stop writing your lies, otherwise I will be forced to use legal methods...

Infinite Road = LIAR part III

You are accusing me of loosing your carnet ?!?

Laughing out Loud Here...

You flew back home (Brazil to Italy), left all your stuff here.
We (myself and Gabriel from Touratech Brazil) were kind enough to allow to use the store space to keep your things as well we to use the store address so you could receive the carnet here in Brazil...

We never lose anything !

I am asking GABRIEL from TOURATECH to jump in this communication and give you his statement as well... you are incredible....

I thank Augusto for his comment/post here. He shows exactly how he is dealing with clients. As long as you tell him he is the best, he is nice. But as soon you try to optimize his process, something is going wrong or you critic him, he become very non-cooperative. I will write a detailed post about all my shipping experiences a bit later.

I had no other possibility to ship with someone other because of the POA (Power Of Attorney). I tried to make a new POA from Italy, but it is practically not possible and with all the official translations you need it is more expensive than to fly to Brazil. This was the reason why I had to ship with August and ask him to do it finally. He knew that and the price was accordingly. First offer to ship the sidecar was usd 1590$ (Email from Do. 09.03.2017 16:59). Finally I paid: 2656 USD plus 10% exchange rate commission for him (not for the bank), because I had to pay in Brazil Reals (email from Mo. 03.07.2017 15:18). Also here I will write more detailed a bit later.

The lost carnet de passage was my old (stamped) one. Sure it was my fault to leave it there, but finally it got lost in Brazil with other documents like insurance policy. The envelope was deep in the sidecar and so not possibility to fall out by accident.
