Great stuff,

We are in Cajamarca for some down time because the rack on my boke developped a crqck from the vibrations on PE-3N.

In Ecuador, we slept in Zumba. The Hostel was 70ft from a military watch station, felt very safe.

First night in Peru we slept in Jaen. Very hot and loud place.

Between yhe border and Jaen its all paved but there are rocks on the road in every curve and many many ols landslides.

Leaving Jaen ots all paved until you reach the turnoff in Ciple.

Between Ciple and Cutervo its all under construction but they are widening the road (and strting to pave it) and its fairly easy but a little tedious.

Then between Cutervo and Chola the road is narrow and primitive. When you reach the high area the views and feel for the road is special. Be prepared for long awkward stares for the local farmers who will think you come from outer space. You will see them working the fields with plows pulled by cattle. Progress is very slow kn this part. Took us a who afternoon. Also maps.me iphone gps made us ride and abandoned section pf the road and it wass full of rocks, cow poo and grass growing on it.

From Chola to Cajamarca its 1/2 pave(and awsome) 1/2 dirt when you reach the high area. You will see multiple mines where they are leveling whole mountain tops. The trucks hauling ore are dangerous because they cut corners.

Finaly passed the mines, on the way down to Cajamarca it was new pavement. We were following a very drunk driver in a new toyota suv. After seeing him almost hit people walking the road and barely missing other cars head on in blind curves and almost running off the road multiple times. We saw a police truck parked at a gas station and I stopped and explained to the cops the guy was drunk and very dangerous. Cops acted very quickly and pulled the guy over.
