Nepal, recommended accomodation
Hetauda: Avocado Motel; N 27 26 122 E 085 02 150. If you drive the beautiful Thribhuvan Highway (it is just a mountain road) from the Terai to Kathmandu, Avocado Motel is a recommendable place for a stopover. Avocado Motel has rooms in a wide price range; the expensive ones are in the classic main building and the cheap ones in an annex. For just 350 Nepalese rupees I got a simple room but clean and with attached bathroom (cold water). The restaurant is good with a lot of avocado items on the menu which are only available in avocado time. Of course you can get a . Avocado has ample parking and it is guarded.
Damman. If you drive that ridiculous beautiful Tribhuvan Hihhway, just before the village of Damman is Damman Mountain Ressort which is an excellent place for people with a lot of money (a room is 65 usd a night). I don't belong to the class with wads of money, I only took lunch there. The views are superb and the service friendly. It is 5 minutes walk from the main road; you can park your bike inside the gate at the road and it is guarded. In Damman is also a guesthouse, opposite the botanical garden.
Kathmandu: The Yellow House, Paknajol, Thamel; N 27 43 089 E 085 18 531. Thamel is a tourist madhouse but The Yellow House is luckily in a quiet ally at the edge of it. Good place to stay without becoming one of the mad ones. Prices between 900 and 1500 nepalese rupees. They don't have a parking place but you can park your bike at another guesthouse with which they have a good relationship, a bit down the alley.
