RoadbookNavi - Free Roadbook Navigation and Planing

Hi fellow adventure riders!

I hope its ok to share a project I've been working on in my spare time: RoadbookNavi (https://roadbooknavi.de)

WHAT IS IT?

RoadbookNavi is a free web app that lets you create and navigate professional roadbooks for any route, anywhere in the world (as long as there is some OSM Data available). Whether you're training for a rally event or just want to experience the challenge and fun of roadbook navigation on your next adventure, this tool is designed for you.

Draw your route on a map, and instantly get a professional roadbook with tulip diagrams. No special hardware needed - works on any tablet or phone with GPS.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

This is a non-profit passion project that I run in my spare time. The app is currently hosted on modest infrastructure, which means:
- It can occasionally crash or be temporarily unavailable
- Performance may vary during peak usage
- It's a work in progress with features being added regularly

Depending on feedback and support (maybe donations), I might move it to more robust hosting. But for now, please be patient with any hiccups! ????

FEATURES AT A GLANCE

• Instant roadbook generation - draw a route, get your roadbook in seconds
• Professional tulip diagrams and turn instructions
• Real-time OpenStreetMap data integration
• Multiple routing profiles (car, motorcycle, enduro with different preferences)
• TET & TCT overlay support for planning along these popular trails
• Export to RallyNavigator 2 (.rn2) or PDF format
• GPS-based navigation with autoscroll and tripmaster display
• Offline capability (when installed as PWA)
• Bluetooth handlebar controller support
• Works on any device with a browser and GPS
• Dark mode and customizable interface
• Multiple language support (currently en and de)

FREE TO USE

Registration is completely free! The standard account allows:
- 25km maximum distance between route segments
- 100km maximum total roadbook length

If you need longer routes for a specific trip, just drop me an email at mail@roadbooknavi.de and we can work something out.

DOCUMENTATION

Full documentation is available at https://roadbooknavi.de/documentation
(accessible without an account - check it out to see all features in detail)

TRY IT OUT & FEEDBACK WANTED

I'd love to hear your feedback! What works well? What could be improved? What features would you like to see?

Give it a try at: https://roadbooknavi.de

If you find it useful and want to support the project, you can buy me a coffee at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/roadbooknavi

Every contribution helps keep the servers running and motivates me to continue development.

Looking forward to your thoughts and happy trails!

Johannes

New to Horizons Unlimited?

New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!

Horizons Unlimited was founded in 1997 in Ushuaia, Argentina, by Grant and Susan Johnson, as they neared the end of their journey around the world on a BMW R80G/S.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
