Atmospheric pollution from factories day and night, video time lapse

hallo to everyone and good
rest of summer!
Here are some pictures of what's going on in the atmosphere of Kavala city in Greece.
from the factories mainly the fertilizers but also the oils that work non-stop day and night.
You can't stand around there.
With a motorbike you pass and you throttle to get out of the area and with a car you close windows.
Great insight into how the inhabitants live there.
How much does the world work in there... ?
Here's the relevant video

Your post, and particularly the very 'atmospheric' video, got me thinking about the whole problem of atmospheric pollution. I'm fortunate these days not to live in an area with poor air quality but that's not always been the case. Back when I was born, and for some years after that, London was plagued with recurrent 'super fogs' - smogs, where a particular set of atmospheric conditions and smoke from coal burning combined to form an almost unbreathable mix, sometimes for weeks on end. Here's a link to some archive film footage if you're interested in how bad things can get -

We moved out of the city and went to live in Ireland but that wasn't an option for everyone. Twenty years later a similar problem came to pass in Los Angeles but this time from vehicle emissions rather than coal fires. Both of these were resolved by legislation but if your livelihood comes from working in some of the factories in your video you might think the cure worse than the disease.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
