Possible to re-enter Uzbekistan with visa-free?
Hi guys,
We will probably ride from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan, and then back into Uzbekistan again. We have a 30 day visa-free entrance to Uzbekistan.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible to enter Uzbekistan for a second time with the visa-free option?
2. If yes: will the 30 day period still be in place? In other words: the 30 days will start counting from the moment we will enter UZ for the first time, and we should get out during our second time in UZ within that 30 day period of time? Or would we get another (new) period of 30 days when re-entering?
3. If no: the only other option to have a double entry to UZ would be to apply for an (e-)visa?

What passports are you traveling on?
Most often a visa waiver is for 30 days within a specific period - 186 or 365 days. So it means that from the first time you enter Uzbekistan, until the end of the counting period, you can enter and exit as much as you'd like, but your total time spent inside Uzbekistan (including the day of entry and the day of exit) has to be no more than 30 in total.
EDIT: Looks like in Uzbekistan there isn't even that restriction: https://mfa.uz/en/pages/visa-republic-uzb - Note par. 2. So you get 30 days upon each entry, and it resets as soon as you exit.

That wouldn't surprise me. When I worked in Kazakhstan people would jump on a flight to Bishkek (nearest international airport) then board the return flight on the same aircraft to come back. That would keep them going until their long-term work visa came through.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
