Hi all,

Any contacts for a shop in Vladivostok where I can buy a new battery?

My bike is coming in without a battery to get around dangerous goods issue so need a replacement

Thanks!

Is it coming in through Yuri? Or maybe another agent. I am sure they can arrange it for you.

Hi - Coming through Yuri.

I've just gotten my Russian visa today so will be sending all the information to him shortly

Agreed I can contact many bike shops but in the interest of time and not getting ripped off, thought I would ask ahead of time

When I was there two years ago, I went to a couple looking for tires. They all seemed fairly similar, and Yuri was kind enough to drive me to a few while we waited for my bike to get out of customs.

I went to:
- Moto Store Motari - small parts shop downstairs, pretty good selection of parts
- Service Shop "Ryder" - had a large shop area, and they were helpful with some fixes after installing my tires, seemed to have higher end parts

Batteries are very particular (size, shape, output) so you want to get the right one to last you. The other option is to buy a "gel" battery, which are allowed on planes, although usually after some discussion. That's what I did when I met up with my bike.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
