Howto: build a 2nd Battery Setup

How I would build my electronic Setup today?

What we want:

- Boardbattery to fire a fridge, Laptop and other electronic stuff
- Using 220v at Campsites for charging
- Using the Car Power to charge the 2nd Battery
- Using Solar for more time staying remote

Most "ready to use" Solutions like the National Luna Battery Pack had some weak spots, what does not work well - when you go for an extended trip. For shure you can use them as basic battery holder - and add Solar and Battery2Battery Charger with UIUI and Voltage Booster. But it is not worth the bucks, if you ask me.. If they would provide an an builtin Battery2Battery charger with Voltage Booster - then it would be usable....

Use the language Switch on the right. Hope that gives you some hints to build or aprove your Setup

I hope no one will be tempted to charge a secondary battery with his motorcycle. It would fry stator/rectifier very quickly.

Guess no one try to carry a fridge-box on the bike

There are also mobile Solar Solutions around (for cars)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
