Now simply rotate the shift lever UP one or two spline notches. That should do it for a boot adjustment. Slip the lever back onto the appropriate spline and push on. Before bolting, jump on bike and see how it feels WITH YOUR BOOTS ON! Make adjustments as needed. You should be able to get your toe over and under the lever without undue effort. Keep in mind MX boots are STIFF and moving your foot up and down to shift will seem hard at first. Relax, it will all come good in a few rides. Trust me.
Now do the same adjustment on the brake lever. Most riders have them set too high, forcing too much ankle bend and poor control. Rear brake is very important off road. Lower it until comfortable in use either sitting or standing.

Well just fitted the AT gear lever slightly raise as you suggested and WOW what a difference. Mind you also found out why the old TA leaver was a pain it had been bent inward by about 2-3 cm. Haven't adjusted the brake lever yet since seems OK at present just need to remember to be a bit more gentle with it when riding in MX boots since keep locking rear wheel which unnerves the cars behind and myself on corners
