Exclamation *SOLD* 2007 Yamaha XT660r, Black, 45,300 miles, Adventure ready! [Reading, UK]

SOLD

This bike is the underdog of adventure bikes from its era being the lighter brother of the 660 Tenere, weighing in around 180kg dry. This particular one has been kitted out with everything needed to take it straight down a green lane or further! The MOT is valid until August 2020 and I have various bits of paperwork showing what has been done on the bike. Fluids are always changed as per the service intervals. It has the following extras fitted:
  • Ohlins rear shock and linear front fork springs
  • Custom rear top plate and luggage rack which will take Givi boxes on either side
  • Stainless steel open front sprocket cover
  • USB and 12v cigarette lighter sockets
  • Stainless braided front brake hose
  • HUGE lockable tool tube
  • LED rear light assembly and rear indicators
  • Acerbis handguards
  • Folding mirrors
  • Aftermarket adjustable brake and clutch levers
  • Metal mule heavy duty bash plate and single sided exhaust
  • Wider footpegs with lots of grip
  • Radiator guard
  • Heated grips
  • It has had the infamous ‘Kev’ mod and o2 sensor mod to smooth out the fuel injection
  • Folding rear brake and gear levers
  • Renthal handlebars and bar brace
  • Renthal race chain
  • Scottoiler
  • Fork gaiters

Work that has been done in the last year or so:
  • Fork oil and seal
  • Moto-batt gel battery fitted
  • New brake fluid
  • New wheel bearings

The bike has been garaged for the last 2 years and I will include a lot of the original parts that the above list of extras has replaced such as the original rear shock and fork springs. It’s currently fitted with a K-60 scout on the front and a Mitas e09 on the rear and I will also throw in a (worn) pair of Mitas army specials that have a bit of life left in them - perfect for the trails, along with a set of bar risers and the Haynes manual.

The bike is a little rough around the edges with scratches and marks and a couple of cracks in one of the plastic panels - the usual wear for a big bike that’s been used properly and taken off road! It also has some tears in the seat. Other than this, the bike runs well with no tapping or rattling.

I am asking for £1990 GBP as it has a number of extras but am open to sensible offers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
