My point, and I do have one, is that I agree with (almost) all that's been said.
One month into a 7 month motorbike trip in Africa I realised that the advice/information (although accurate) I was getting from
some 4x4 guys just didn't apply to ME.
No reflection on the travellers as individuals but it became obvious that the mode of transport you choose dictates all.
Caminando, you'll know this from your Africa Twin travels.
Everything's different:
Border crossings, police checks, campsites, tar roads,  , any roads, sand, mud...
So if it's being posted outside the 4x4 forums it should be pointed out if your 4x4 or on 2 wheels.
