Thanks for all the great advice that you guys have given me it is much appreciated.
What I am going to do is drop the oil and top up with new stuff at the right quantity and give the bike a good run and see what happens the next morning on startup.
If it is still the same I`m going to order new seals and gaskets and just do it,the bike is too nice to leave it as it is.
Just a couple more things that I need to ask..
Would it be a good idea to fit new rings while the top end is off and what is the correct oil for the TT600E (UK Climate)?
I have checked the bikes handbook and Yamaha say use 20w/50,they do not mention alternative grades for different climates.
I do realise that big single, air cooled engines will run hotter than a modern 4 cylinder liquid cooled lump and England isn`t the warmest country around.
Should I stick to what the handbook says?
Thanks Guys
Paul.
