I have an '88 kickstart engine in my '92.I used the CDI from the donor bike,so it just plugs into the engine loom.....the key doesn't kill the engine so I use a kill switch.Same with the alt - I used an after market 3 wire regulator and just hooked it into the original red output wire to the battery.I've been running this set up for 18 months without a problem.All the original electric start and 3 phase alt,and original CDI wiring is untouched,so when I refit my E start engine it will be just plug and go.
