Is the temp oiltemp, and meassured where?

Mine in the frame rarely exceeds 120c

Don't have anything to measure the oil directly, will see if I can find something fast.

Will also take a photo of the sparkplug when I get back home and the engine has cooled down.

Removed the sparkplug, outer ring is black, insulator is white grey-ish. Didn't go really high in revs, maybe 5k for a short time. Will post pics of the sparkplug soon.

Found out the sparkplug might not have sealed properly because of the Trailtech temp meter thingy. Put a new sparkplug in and taped the temp meter to the oiltank untill I find a proper place to install it

I measure the oil temps in all my XT's by TrailTech 6mm probes in the head just above the right exhaust valve . Gives me the highest reading and quickest to show temp changes depending on conditions . Is also way, way less effected by ambient air temps that give false reading because the air is cooling the probe .

You can see the probe just under the decomp lever and tach cable , in this picture I also had one of the other probes for testing and comparing to the oil probe , big difference no matter where I had it. Will always use the oil type but a person needs to drill and tap the hole in the plug on the side of the head .

I based my jets off of his, but his are for a stock intake, stock exhaust xt600.

how did you squezee it there ? will try and do the same!

loving this tacho so much! thanks to Vando everything is working properly !

Added some oil, got the sparkplug properly installed again, weather cooled down and now it seems to be running cooler. Can't actually measure it, but it seems to be running cooler.
Before I could hear the metal make cracking noises from the heat, can't really now. Will still be installing an oil cooler. Will also be taking the bike to the tuning shop. Don't want to buy an AF meter for 100-150 euro and still **** up the jetting.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
