Yamaha XT600 3TB main switch

Greetings to all fans of the XT600 model.

I own the XT600E version 3UX (it says 3TB on all parts). and spent the whole winter arranging and repairing the motorcycle.

Today, I came to the Main Switch.
There are 6 wires:

Of all the 6 wires, only green-black and red are connected at the end connector:

On the other side of the connector, green is connected to brown and red to red:

The other wires are not connected in any way.

Note, on the other side of the connector are two wires disconnected from the connector (blue and blue-red).

Thank You,, very much . German language isn't problem. I'll check it immediately..Just need good schematic for checking cables.

well, obvious traces of some modifications.
could be done worse.

having newer model with original switch, is has also 6 wires with 2+4 arrangement in two different sockets. red and brown (thicker) cables in one socket are for actual switch, others should be for that queer "parking light" thing.
i'd check wiring diagram, also mark all foreign (custom) cables to prevent mislead.

good to hear about repair progress. could you tell what particular issue you currently have with main switch or bike? so far i see only missing bolt ( :

N67, big thanks I believe that's the point!
2+4 arrangement in two different sockets. I have red and brown wired to another red-brown combination (picture 3).
And, another 4 wires going nowhere.. But, on another side of socket, I have wired two blue wires, one blue-red and one more (don't remember). That's on the picture no.3..
After checking, I'll inform You here what up with this mess.

And, please note that XT starts and works properly. I don't like any kind of mess, and would love to fix everything to ooriginal condition (if it's possible,of course).

nice to know about proper working xt and little help through this forum.
i suppose parking light will not be functional due to cut wires.
not a big deal, don't remember if i ever needed this function, but do remember how it used to drain battery when accidentally activated, especially during daylight.

I agree. The blue wire appears to be responsible for "position light". I will have to connect it for a technical inspection, and then I will disconnect it

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
