Yamaha XT600 not 3TB actually a 2KF ACERBIS 20 litre tank for Sale UK

Had this new old stock ACERBIS tank on the shelf for years - bought it on a whim thinking it could be made to fit my 1VJ - wrong! It is apparently quite a rarity and will fit only the 2KF not 3TB models. It has never had fuel in it, but is a little grubby where it has been sitting around for years.
Clearing the garage and it needs to go.
Comes with what seems to be most of the fitting kit - bobbins and a rear packing piece. I may have the pipe work, T piece and breather pipe somewhere but have a feeling I used them on another bike at some point. No fuel taps fitted - it needs 2 - but they are available from Acerbis, or through David Lambeth's EBay site. The filler cap is there as you can see.
Looking for £200 posted - the new ones for the 4PT models come in at close to £300 so that seems fair.

See Mezos thread below for a link to a picture of one fitted to a bike - looks so good I'm tempted to go shopping for a 2KF!

I think that fits a 43F Bob, 3TB (600E) was 1990 onwards & the instruction says 87/88.

Thanks Mezo - I did try it on an early Tenere (83 or 84) belonging to a mate and it didn't align with the seat. Could have been made to fit, but would have meant a custom seat.
Another friend had an early 3TB with what I thought was the same tank as this on it - his is the white one below. I have also seen this blue one. Looking closely now, they do seem slightly different, so you could well be right.

Anyone want a tank for a 43F?!!

I understand the 2KF (like mine) was built from '87 to '89, so according to the Acerbis instructions that would make it a tank for a 2KF. Mine is an '89 model. In addition to that, your tank looks exactly like the 2KF tank I have.

Hi JP, what model is your XT? The code will form the start of the frame/engine number.
As you can tell from the thread above there has been some confusion over the suitability of the tank. 99% sure it will fit 2KF and 2NF models.

Regards

Bob
