ONe alternative to the continuous chain is to use a rivet link. The only advantage to continuous is no link. A riveted chain is no weaker than a continuous.
The only problem with rivet links is it requires a special tool. It can be expensive for a good one. BUt, if means not taking a swing arm off it can make difference. You can have one riveted at a dealer for free or a pop for the mechanic.
But, the swing arm needs the grease any way, so it seems to work out nicely.
Also, if the arm has a grease fitting its ok to shoot some grease in there. Just don't pump it full until it comes out the seals. Just pump a little in. It'll work through and then just regulary pump some in.
