Fuel Tank options 1986 XT600S

Hi All,
Searched... Searched... still not sure what to look for. Think the folks call my bike a '43F'. There are Clark tanks. Nice, but not 5+ gal. I do not really need that much fuel, normally. Would be nice to make a plan for a 300mi. run, without thinking about 'just how much farther before I ditch...'
Aside from a custom build of a tank, What else fits my ride?
Best to you all.
Mike

The Clark 4.0gal is all there is . Acerbis made one 20 years ago but they have long since disappeared. I don't know if one off a DR650 or XR650L would fit or not but something like those may be an option , just hard to know if they'll fit close or easily made to fit.

Hi Steve
Thanks for the reply. I was not able to find the one you referenced.
30 liters sounds like an ideal size to me.
Is there another way to point to the one you mentioned?
Thanks,
Mike

Check the rear mounts on those big tanks , many went with 2 holes , the regular XT's only have one.

like this one(ridiculous priced , only as an example) ,http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-GENUI...JYIEur&vxp=mtr

Many thanks folks. All great examples.
I will send David a request for fitment.
I believe the black Acerbis one fits. Mine does have just the single hold down bolt under the nose of the seat.

Keep us informed , I'd be interested in one of those if they fit , just nothing here in the US . I'll be interested in how they ship it , I've always heard they can't ship a used gas tank by airplane due to fumes so many sellers won't ship overseas , thus why I never looked around over there for one .

Yes, not shipping a used tank(fumes), makes sense. Not really what I want to hear at this point... but it does help me understand the difficulty in getting responses to 'buy-it-now' queries that I am not able to post. Saw some great solutions in European markets. There is as always persistence. I will practice some more of it. Still have the option of a custom build, with the old spare tank as a donor for grafting.
Best to you All
Mike
