car removal hell &beyond
hi
Do you tilt the carb forward or backward to get it out?
Its out of the rear rubber inlets but still in the front rubber inlets and it just seems undoable really..i can twist it and turn it but it stops against the frame..seems like you have to get it at the 100% correct angle.
now i think ill just remove the whole airbox instead cause i think something would break if i force it out.

Anyone remember if this is supposed to be taken out on the left or right side?
Looks like its just too big..when out from the rubberinlets it wont go straight out and i cant turn it too much either because the inlets are in the way..And on the left side theres a oil cable going down and forcing it out looks like it would hurt the oil-line.

Got it out lol..had to try the right side and that went easy after loosening the breakliquid-holder and pulling it a bit to the side.

On my 43F, I find removing the rubber hoses that connect the carb to the airbox makes getting the carbs out and back in much easier.
The hoses can be a pain to re-fit if they are cold, perhaps warming them with hot water would help.

Yes, I took off the hose that goes from the engine and into the airbox too.
I managed to get the new carb on, the mikuni tm34-b65 but it was even tighter and at a point i was pretty sure i had to rip out and break the inlet.
It didnt start but i think i forgot to conenct the orange cable to the ignition coil under the tank..dont remember if that orange cable was connected before i took it off but i hope thats why it didnt start.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
