Bespoke Wilbers shock

I treated my bike to a new Wilbers shock from David Lambeth for its 21st birthday and as a 40th birthday present to myself.
Give my back an easier time in my old age
Just installed it today.
Very nice bit of kit and what a difference.
Fitted perfectly,loads of adjustment.
Now...where to go?
Portugal might be calling I think.

Portugal is always a good place to come visit! Maybe down at Faro bike show?

Hi ya cathal,
Good to see you are happy with the Wilbers shock. I see it was a bespoke one, can we presume this was to your specifications based on?
Me thinks lots of fellow riders would like a lot more information on the results, based on what you are looking for (I presume touring) or much more?)
Maybe let us know after your ride to Portugul or sooner.

Enjoy

The shock is designed specifically for the 3aj.
It's lighter and has more pre load adjustment than standard.
It has a 10.5nm spring.
I'm at about 40%of the pre load on the spring and it's well jacked up.
I have a 34 inch inside leg and I'm on my toes with no luggage.
Should be bang on,loaded.
It changes the whole attitude of the bike, very plush ride.
Looking to testing it properly.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
