Problem averted... just about.
Cheers for the advice guys although the local bike mechanic came through in the end. It was the kick stand kill switch. It was switched off by the vibes and was easily removed.
Also the tacho gear box has begun leaking. Seals changed but still leaks. The gear box socket that the cable goes into is corroded so am ordering another. Unfortunately i have no information as to how old the bike is as the frame and engine numbers have been swapped for DVLA ones. I am hoping that all 3YF engines use the same part.
If not was planning to bung the hole with liquid metal (after removing the rotating peg in there) and sacrificing the rev counter. Anyone used liquid metal in this way before or done a similar repair?
