One last comment, about the handling in Malaysia on the other side. There are three steps to get the cars out :
- The shipping line, just go there with the bill of lading and pay the bill. 840rm in our case since there was two BL and one container.
- The harbor handlers, get there, ask to speak to "Jay Cee" or his boss (the only Sikh in the building, you can't miss him) and they will take care of you. 250rm for getting the container from the yard, opening it and getting your car on the tarmac.
- The customs to clear it. 8rm per car, and half a day of running around.
Had we gone through an agent, we'd have paid over a thousand dollars (we had a quote for 1200AUD), so do yourself a favor, do the job yourself. It's a lot of paperwork but it'll save a huge chunk of money.
On the road again then !
