Manali, reputable mechanics?
Hi Everyone,
I'm now in Manali, Himachal, North India, and unfortunately I didn't find a good mechanic in Delhi! In fact he's made a complete mess of the carburation and I'm just not brave enough to fiddle with it!
So, I need to find a good mechanic in Manali who can sort my carb out and do a few other jobs before I attempt the road to Leh.
My 2004 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Electra and I would really appreciate any help on this one!
Cheers,
Greg

Hello,
I have just my bike fixed with a workshop in Vashish and they seem to know their job. If you are coming from Manali, it is not the workshop at the crossing to Vashish, but the next on the right hand side further up the mountain.

Does anyone know of a good place to rent a bike in manali?
Time restrictions may force us to having to skip the bit from delhi.

Many places in Manali and Vashsisht.
The workshop in Vashisht I mentioned (called Anu s workshop) rents bikes out as well.

Anu's Motor Works
I have used Anu's as well, and apart from trying to tell me that the battery needed re-aciding and charging me for it, when I had checked it the morning before I took the bike to him, he did a good job and at a fair price. Sure, you WILL pay more than the locals, but not an outrageous amount more. An while you are there be sure to try the rice pudding at the chai shop next door...mmmmmmmm
Regards

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
