Post Crossing Myanmar in April 2015 (Thailand to India) - Travelmates wanted!

Hi all together,

we are actually travelling back overland from Australia to Germany with our Pajero and will cross Myanmar from Thailand to India (Myawaddy/Maesot -> Tamu/Moreh) starting between 10th to 12th of April 2015.
Actually we are 4 guys with 2 4WDs confirmed for 9 day trip and have contact to some other possible participants.

The current itinerary looks like this (not fixed yet):

Day 01: Measot/Myawaddy - Hpaan - Golden Rock (270 km, 7 hour drive)
Day 02: Golden Rock - Naypyidaw (370 km, 7 hour drive)
Day 03: Naypyidaw - Bagan (285 km, 5 hour drive)
Day 04: Bagan Sightseeing
Day 05: Bagan - Mount Popa - Mandalay (250 km, 5.30 hour drive)
Day 06: Mandalay Sightseeing
Day 07: Mandalay - Monywa Sightseeing (130 km, 3 hour drive)
Day 08: Monywa - Kalaymyo (240 km, 7 hour drive)
Day 09: Kalaymyo - Tamu border (100 km, 3 hour drive)

What’s included:
-08 night accommodation.
-Escort English speaking guide.
-Pilot car.
-Meals as mentioned.
-Permission documents.
-Excursions at Bagan, Mandalay, Golden Rock.
-Bottled drinking water.

Not included in the price:
-Local airport departure taxes - payable locally on each departure (10 USD from Yangon)
-Travel insurance.
-Zone fees for sightseeing (Bagan, Mandalay, Golden Rock, Yangon)
-Items of a personal nature such as laundry, drinks, etc.
-Tips for your guide and driver (discretionary).
-Any camera or video fees at any sites.
-International flights.
-Visa on arrival.

The costs are about 1050 USD for 4 people (must be confirmed again, because prices will rise up in 2015 but we probably get the old price) and will significantly go down with an increasing number of participants.
So if somebody is interested to join us with his bike / car / truck please contact us ASAP because booking should be done in the next weeks.

Cheers,
Steven

Hi Steven,

We are 2 pairs of brothers traveling in a Toyota Hiace on our way to doing the same as you. The dates and price range fit pretty well!

Could you send us a private message with more detail about the agency involved? That would be great.

Cheers,

Doug, Yann, Henry and Gino.

New travel partners!

Hi there Doug and your team!

I'm the other car that Steven was referring to when he mentioned 2 cars with 4 people. Good to meet you.

I have just emailed the company to try and confirm the itinerary and final price and will let you know what's involved.

At this stage we're looking to depart from Thailand around the 10th April, taking 9 days to cross the country before entering India's north-west.

If you email me at bensout@gmail.com we can chat there along with Steven.

Hopefully this all works out!

Have fun and hope to meet you soon,

Ben

end of March-April crossing Burma / Myanmar

Hello everyone!
One of my friend makes a trip around the world on a motorcycle. And in end of March - early April is going to cross the Burma / Myanmar. He asked me to learn the possibility of joining the group. Of course, the larger the group the better for all! For all additional questions or suggestions, you can write me an email: MariaPichugina@enjoymoto.com
Waiting for your feedback!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
