Trip to Oz

Hello from Ohio. New to adventure riding and headed to Oz for a work trip. Renting a bike in Sydney and will have it for 3 days. Any suggestions of where to travel. I have researched somewhat, some sights to see, but curious what others suggest I should see. I'm staying in AirBnbs for those 2 nights, and no plans are set as of yet. Any insight would be great. Cheers.

Sydney is a large city of 4 million people .. you need to get out to do any true adventure riding.

Look at it this way ... if you went to Los Angeles for 3 days .. how much adventure riding would you expect to do?

Having said that .. what kind of riding/places are you interested in?

I absolutely realize that. I live in a town of 90 people in the middle of nowhere, Ohio. That being said, I will be in Sydney the entire week before my rental, for work.

I want to get out of the city and see beautiful vistas. I was tentatively thinking about riding down to Jervis Bay on my first day, so I can see the ocean. I was then thinking of traveling inland.

I’m new to adventure riding, but grew up on dirt bikes and have been riding motorcycles for years. I don’t want to tackle anything too gnarly. Dirt roads for sure, but no single track.

Look up the Blue Mountains. I went out there by train (to Katoomba) and just walked around the trails close to the village for the day, but if you want beautiful vistas, you'll find them there.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
