Am I a traveller?

Hi, people
I live in Danmark. Got my license 7 years ago. Got me a Honda CB500 and spent the next 6 years exploiting that poor bike to go all over eastern, western and southern Europe. Alone. Long haul. That, to maximise time spent at interesting bits rather than plodding along, spending my days getting there.
I prefer using airbnb on a next-day-basis because it leaves me free and brings me into contact with the locals, rather than the hotel staff.
I've come to like mountains and rural backwaters.
I don't like aeroplanes. No sense of distance.

And now I've replaced the CB500 with a Blackbird. Not exactly what you'd use for greenlaning or dirt. But oh boy will this increase my range.

Right... I got laid off, meaning the funding for anything travel-related just stopped. So much for being a traveler. At the moment I am a stranded traveler if anything.
Oh well.

Come spring, come job, come travelling. The light at the end of the tunnel isn't necessarily an oncoming train...

Yes

Yes you are a real traveller.
That uses the bike to get to places that Airplanes and tourist busses do not reach.
Goes to places not built for tourist and that are full of tourists.
Where you see local people, nature and culture.

That is what MC travelling is all about.

Keep going

Personally I don’t like labels, along with borders they separate people.

Lovely engine in the Blackbird

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
