People selling their bikes in the Regional Forums

Lately I see a lot of threads where people are listing their bikes for sale in regional forums. This makes it very confusing when searching for a bike because part of the ads are in the regional are others are in the proper classifieds.

Too me it is as if people dont take the forums seriously and post all over to get their ad seen.

Agreed, and we’ll get on it ASAP. Thanks for pointing it out!
I’m at CanWest this weekend so it will probably be next week.
URLs of these posts would speed it up considerably if you gave some time

It would be nice to have a proper form in a dedicated classified section for bikes for sale. Where all the specifics could be listed properly. But I fear this would be A LOT of additional work for the HU web staff.

For now though, you'll just have to rely on the common sense of people listing bikes.

However, if you're selling a bike in South America, it's not really 'Irrelevant' to list a bike for sale in there.

HUBB does have a section for classifieds.

To complete your comment, if you go to the South America regional forum for example, on the first page, 1/3 of the threads are people selling or looking for bikes.

jf is right; it is annoying and misuse.

Fwiw, I move misplaced bikes for sale posts into the classified section when I come across them.

I don't think a form is needed. Just write up the details, as people do, some better than others.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
