UK to Australia

Hi all
I am travelling from the UK to Australia starting around May 2020

Does anyone know how I can get my bike from South East Asia to Darwin.

I was thinking of looking for a shipping ferry that might go from Singapore to Darwin or possible Bangkok.
Thank you

ANL and Bollore both do a round trip Darwin/Dilli/Singapore.

Tricky bit is getting from Mayalsia mainland to the islands (Bornea/Sumatra), there are passenger ferries, cargo ships and planes but no RORO at the moment. News shows a RORO ferry due to start end of 2019.

We are going the other way, leaving Australia in November 2019, due to be in the UK around May-July 2020

Hi Budgie, I'm planning on leaving from the UK for Sydney in August 2020. How far have you got with your planning and where did you start?!

I'm feeling very unorganised now as I'm setting off UK to Australia in September and haven't worked that bit out yet! My thinking is that it'll be much easier to work out on the ground but if anyone has any tips it'd be very much appreciated.

Hopefully once I've worked it out I'll be able to point you in the right direction as well!

I used a company called Bikes Abroad, bikesabroad.au, to go from Perth to Kuala Lumpa. The owner Ivan offers a service to Brisbane as well. We dropped our bike off at a local BMW dealer who did the crating and saw to the customs paperwork ourselves, with Ivan’s help. Very good service and cost effective.
