Transportation from Australia to Indonesia

Hello Everyone,
Looking for recommendations to ship my DR650 from Queensland Australia(or Darwin if the route is easier) to Indonesia. I’ve read some older posts here on HU but hoping to hear from more recent travellers.
From there I’ll be ferry hopping and heading to Malaysia (and then onwards) so I’m very open to opinion’s/options.
Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Thank you.

We're planning the same trip but have to get to Aus first, try pj logistics or ceva from Darwin to Dili. It's probably going to cost you around 2K but its crazy out there. the shipping times sound erratic at best. Let me know how you get on, it would be good to know our quote is in the same ball park. Good luck

We travelled around Australia in 2019, and found that ferries around Indonesia were erratic or non existent due to low cost airlines. We used an Australian company called Bikes Abroad - enquiries@bikesabroad.com.au or call Brent on 0414 801 878. We left from Perth to Kuala Lumpur. You go to the local BMW dealer who reuses the bike crate to pack your bike. Very good service and they made it all very easy.

Darwin to Malaysia

Hi we are a group of 4 bikes looking to travel from Darwin to Malaysia (as part of a Syd-Lon trip) around April 2024 and wondered if you managed to work out a good route from Dili to Malaysia as it looks like all previous posts might be invalid. Thanks

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
