Shipping from USA to Rotterdam with Schumacher Cargo Logisitics

Hello,

2 friends and I are planning on shipping our bikes from Houston to Rotterdam by sea. We got a quote from Schumacher Cargo Logistics for $450/bike for shipping. The broker also said it would be around 300 euro for port fees once we reach Rotterdam.

My questions are:

1. Does this seem like a fair price for shipping as well as a fair estimate for the port fees?

2. Has anyone ever shipped with Schumacher or know anyone who has shipped with Schumacher? Are they reliable?

3. If it were you, would you take this deal?

Thanks in advance!

Michael

We actually found air shipping from Toronto to Frankfurt for 1000 Canadian via aircanada. Based on what we've read about potential fees/difficulties with freight, we're going to ride our bikes to Toronto and ship them from there. Thanks for the reply!

That's great! The moto shipping service that Air Canada has just begun promoting is definitely the way to go between North America > Europe and South America ... and vice versa.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
