Shipping from Paris, France to Houston, Texas
Hello,
I am a US citizen who owns a bike in France. I would like to bring my bike to the US for the summer. I am planning an 8 to 10 week trip in the US and possibly Mexico.
Does anyone have a shipping company they can recommend? How hard is it to pass customs? I.E, what types of documents will be needed?

Unfortunately, I don't think I can get the bike to Germany. I can get the bike to Paris. My bike is currently located in Lille, France close to the Belgium border.
The bike would have to be shipped to Houston, Texas. I am somewhat getting desperate and might consider having it shipped to Mexico if that's a possibility.
Do you guys crate or would the bike have to be crated first? Do you help with Customs?

we could send the bike from Bremerhaven to Galveston, TX. in this case the bike has not to be crated as we are using a RoRo-vessel. this works like a ferry without passenger.
We might have a Chance to arrange a collection of the bike in Belgium but sadly our trucking companies do not serve France.

I don't know about the bike not being crated... What about possible damages? Also, how long would it take to ship the bike by sea?
Where in Belgium would you be able to collect the bike? I can try and see if I can find a shipping company from Lille to Hamburg.
I am not sure I can bring the bike to the US... It seems like a lot of hassle to get through Customs. I am considering Mexico. Would it be an option to send the bike to Mexico? Would it have to be a specific town/ port?

if the bike is under EU-Registration you can use it up to 12 months with French plate. You need an authorization from EPA. The application is not a big deal, we can assist. We have shipped out bikes on These vessels regular, of course we cannot guarantee, but up to now we had no complaints of lost or damage at all. I coul check if we're able to collect in Belgium, costs approx EUR 400,00. Or you deliver to Bremerhaven (not Hamburg)
