Motorcycle shipping options from ethiopia, eretrea, djibouti to europe

Any help would be greatfully received

The end point of an upcoming african adventure is looking like Ethiopia,Djibouti or Eritrea.

1st prize would be to reach the red sea over Addis Abbaba.

Then there is the following options:
Ship from Eritrea or Djibouti to Europe, Preferably spain or more west. With myself in tow would be 1st prize.

Fly from any of the locations into Europe with bike.

Shipping as have never done or spoken to anyone does seem to add a time factor?

Anyone who has ever done any of these options or has contacts would be amazing if you could share.

Bike in question BMW r1200GSA

Thanks in advance

What is your time frame for shipping and when do you need shipping/freighting.

Same question goes for Suanba as well.

cheers

we have an Option out of Djibouti to Hamburg by ocean. As there is no consolidation Service we Need to use a complete Container only. This would make sense to Combine 2 or more bikes in one Container BUT all travelers Needs to be there at more/less same time and need to spend abt 3 working days for the customs procedure.

contact me in case it is relevant

best regards
Olaf

Hey

Sorry for the delay

I still have no time frames. Just looking for some options since I hear the Sudan border is currently closed so I am exploring other alternatives...

Early september is all goes to plan. Ideally i dont want to wait to long so its the airfreight option with Ethiopian Airways vs sea transport and extended travel that seems to be the on going weighing of the pros and cons. What shipping options can you supply?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
